EXPO World Expositions are the world’s most prestigious economic, promotional and cultural events. EXPO 2020 held in Dubai in 2021, will be the first World Exhibition organized in an Arab country.
Every year, nations participating in EXPOs arrange their own exhibition spaces, which turn into unique showcases of the countries. The design of Poland’s Pavilion was acknowledged by the organizers as one of the most attractive. The Pavilion will be constructed of wood.
The implementation of the Project XYLOPOLIS has been carried out by the Marshal’s Office of the Podlaskie Voivodeship and the Ministry of Climate and Environment, the Institute of Environmental Protection – National Research Institute, Białystok University of Technology, the University of Bialystok as well as the Unitalent foundation by the Unibep group – the originator of the project concept and an initial name of the exhibition , i.e. “Woodpolis” (“Drewnopolis”).
